GM 2026-2027
GM Projects
Grand Master Michele Trynor of the Grand Lodge of Maine, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, has chosen Veterans Forward as her fundraising project. She invites Maine Odd Fellows lodges, local businesses, and community members to help raise funds for a program that supports Maine veterans facing unexpected financial hardship.
An overdue rent payment can put a veteran’s housing at risk. A broken car can make it hard to get to work. Through its partnership with the Maine Bureau of Veterans’ Services, Veterans Forward helps eligible veterans address urgent expenses such as rent, utility bills, and essential vehicle repairs. That practical help can give veterans and their families room to regain their footing when an unexpected bill strains the household budget.
For Michele, the project is personal. Her father served in the Air Force, her two brothers served in the Army, and her husband served in the Navy. Their service helped inspire her to choose a cause that gives Maine communities a way to show their appreciation by helping veterans through difficult times.
You can support the Veterans Forward fundraiser by attending a participating lodge’s event, making a contribution through the project, or sharing fundraising announcements with friends and neighbours. Local businesses and community groups can reach out to a participating Odd Fellows lodge to ask about ways to get involved.
